Approaching this one imperative from both an esoteric and structural organic perspective, we are given valuable insights an how this service to humanity is to evolve and manifest. Seen as a foundation stone, sacrifice is the expression, activity
and action of the candidate that draws to itself the spiritual qualities that must be made manifest within the sanctuary of life. When an inner need to serve the liberation of others, fills the heart of the candidate to such an extent that it supercedes the desire for personal liberation, then will the true spiritual values of such an action be released and fill the immediate environment of the candidate.

Thus the words of Ghandi: If you wish ta change the world, change yourself, ring true as the axiomatic symbol of the path of self-sacrifice and service. Thus the authors diigently remind us in this compilation, that self-effacement through a
service to others, is the key to unlocking the doors of the Soul for the touch of the Holy Spirit. But we are also reminded that there must also exist n the candidate an intelligence founded on a deep insight, driven by a genuine longing of the heart if
any form of self-sacrifice is to move beyond the simple culture of the "being, and become the true spiritual sacrifice of Soul Renewal.

To commemorate seventy years of world work by the Rosycross, this booklet contains the text of the Brotherhood Day address given in 1994, in celebration of this anniversary. Also included is an historical account of the School's development over this same period, as well as three fragments of addresses that have emphasised this important work. All of these focus on the one essential task that underlies the spiritual path of liberation - service to others!
